1. What are Internet Paging Services?

Vodafone Internet Paging Services enable your pager to receive text messages which have been sent to you via the internet. There are currently two Internet Paging Services available: Email to Pager and Web to Pager.

2. What is Email to Pager and how does it work?

Email to Pager allows you to send paging messages to any text pager on the Vodafone network using your usual email software. To form the email address, simply add “@paging.vodafone.net” after the pager number. For instance, if the pager number is 01234 567890, the email address will be “01234567890@paging.vodafone.net”.

3. What is Web to Pager and how does it work?

Web to Pager allows you to send paging messages to any text pager on the Vodafone network from this dedicated web page. Sending a message couldn’t be easier; simply complete the 4 easy steps and press Send. Press Help if you run into problems at any stage.

4. Who can send a message via Internet Paging Services?

As long as you use a text pager on the Vodafone Paging network, you'll be able to receive messages via web or email. This service is not available to ZAP! pagers.

5. Can every Vodafone Paging customer receive Internet paging messages?

As long as you use a text pager on the Vodafone Paging network, you’ll be able to receive messages via web or email. This service is not available to ZAP! pagers.

6. How do I enable Internet Paging Services on my pager?

To enable either service, simply send a message to your own pager, either via email or this web page. You only need to do this once. To form your email address, add “@paging.vodafone.net” to the end of your pager number.

7. How many Internet paging messages can I receive each month?

You’ll receive 25 messages FREE every month.

8. Can I receive more than 25 messages per month?

Yes, for a small monthly subscription, you’ll be able to receive up to 175 messages each month. Call Customer Services on 07699 112200 to subscribe.

9. How will I know if I have used up my message allowance for the month?

You’ll automatically receive a warning to tell you when you have 5 messages left, and again when you have none left. These warning messages will not come out of your total allowance.

10. How long does it take to receive a message?

Vodafone Paging has no control over the amount of time messages take to travel the internet system before they reach our network. However, as soon as a message enters our system, it is typically received by the pager in just 60 seconds. In general terms, Web to Pager is quicker than Email to Pager.

11. Is there a maximum message length?

Yes. This is determined by the type of pager you’re sending a message to and the paging network it is on. To find out more, call 07699 112200.

12. How will the messages be displayed on my pager?

The format of each message will be as follows:

  • FR: Who the message is from
  • SU: The subject of the message
  • TX: The message text

13. Will information in the “CC” field be transmitted?

No, this information will not be sent.

14. Will attachments be transmitted?

No, attachments will not be sent.

15. Can I forward emails from my PC to my pager?

Yes, this can be done. Vodafone Paging does not support this service but, if your email software permits, you can selectively forward your mailbox to your pager.

16. What happens if my pager is switched off or out of coverage?

Any messages sent to you when your pager is turned off or out of range will be lost. Please be sure to check your battery on a regular basis.

17. I’ve run out of messages but didn't receive my reminder for the month. Why is this?

Your pager may have been turned off, out of coverage or the battery could have been flat.

18. Is message retention and re-transmission possible?

Yes, this service is available to ensure you don’t miss any messages. Call 07699 112200 to find out more.

19. This service doesn’t appear to be working with my pager. Why?

Try checking the following:

  • Have you used up your 25 message allowance and, if so, have you subscribed to the service to receive 175 messages a month?
  • Do you have a text pager?
  • Is your pager turned on?
  • Does the battery have enough power?
  • Is the pager UK based?
  • Are you using the correct address: pagernumber@paging.vodafone.net?
  • If you still experience problems after checking these points, call Customer Services on 07699 112200.
  • This service is not available to ZAP! pagers.
